Hammonasset Beach State Park

Hammonasset Beach State Park has more than two miles of sandy beachfront and is Connecticutâs largest shoreline park. The park is a prime location for observing the monarch butterfly migration, and has many other amenities, including swimming, camping, picnicking, saltwater fishing, biking, hiking, and boating. The beach and park are wheelchair-accessible. Concession stands and a boardwalk are located on-site, as well as a nature center with interpretive programs. Lifeguards are on duty during the summer season, Memorial Day through Labor Day. The beach is open from 8 a.m. until sunset, but campers and anglers with passes may enter the park during the evening hours.
Fees: Variable rate entrance fees depending on resident status and season.
